Hello

Right now I should be enjoying my last day in Budapest.

Instead, I am watching it rain from my desk. It's a strange time in the world right now, and so far this year I have had two holidays cancelled, one visit here at home refunded, and not only because of the continued lockdowns, but my own personal unease, I'm not convinced my trip in July will go ahead at this rate.

The Coronavirus has brought the world to a stop, and who knows where we can, or will want to visit this year.

I love travelling and discovering somewhere new, and I had been very much looking forward to exploring Barcelona back in March, and Budapest this month. But, for right now, there are better things to be worried about than when we can get back out in the world.

However, while we cannot go out and explore the world right now, I figured there is no reason we cannot remember just how beautiful and amazing the world is. So, until we can go back out and explore this diverse and wonderful world, I thought I'd share some of my favourite places I've been privileged to be able to visit. Some of these trips are years old, but, there's no reason not to share them with you.

I don't know how this is going to look, or where i'll write about in each post, but I don't know about anyone else, but I could really do with a little escape right now. I'll be dreaming of when I can get back out to explore, and building a list of destinations I want to see. We might not be able to go right now, but there's no harm in being prepared.

Along with sharing with you the places I've seen and visited, i'll also share how I research the trips I take, as sometimes, it's that research that shapes just what I see. There will be a mixture of roadtrips, city breaks, day trips, and relaxing holiday ideas.

So, please join me on a trip around the world, from right here at home.
